A Randomised controlled trial of Alexander technique lessons, exercise, and massage (ATEAM) for chronic and recurrent back pain concluded that one-to-one lessons had long term benefits for people with chronic back pain. While six lessons resulted in a 48% reduction of days in pain, 24 lessons lead to an 86% reduction in days in pain! In addition the quality of life also improved significantly.
